Haina Desert - Pokemon Sun & Moon

A VAST DESERT LANDSCAPE dotted with rocky structures and monoliths. Curiously, they almost seem humanmade, though there are no signs of people here. Shrubbery and turquoise crystals are encrusted throughout the bright and sweltering dryland. Occasionally, you may stumble upon rocky terrain that is difficult to traverse.[break][break]

Mysterious obelisks with missing seals are situated throughout the desert. No one knows why they exist, or who made them.

[attr="class","char-words"]dusk descends, and as his comrades sleep, greyson explores the outer-edge of the perimeter. at his side, the small patter of the umbreon's steps barely disturbs the sand. her presence is a comfort greyson found he'd missed. since the death of her mate at the darkest day, umbreon had been inconsolable. now, after considerable time and effort, she was beginning to feel like her old self once more.

"what is that?" he ponders aloud, his eyes catching the faintest hint of movements in the dim light. the umbreon stops at his heels, almond eyes narrowing in suspicion.

she gapes in shock at what stands before her.
[break][break]
an espeon, it's body made of sand that's easily carried off in small trickles by the wind, stands before them. it was a spitting image of rose, to the point where even greyson was fooled — even if only for a moment.

"umbra—" his words are cut off as the umbreon takes a tentative step forward, not realizing that more figures are rising from the sand behind the sand!espeon. by the time she cuts her gaze up, it's too late — a MUD SHOT takes her squarely in the chest, sending her tumbling.

"WAKE UP." he roars to the sleeping men behind him, already back-peddling to the center of camp. behind him, the umbreon stirs, a MOONLIGHT washing the campground in a radiant white light.[break][break]

not the first time being startled awake, he is quick to gain his bearings and even quicker to understand the situation. he reaches over to shake aaron faust by his shoulder.[break][break]

"time to get up, fausty boy!"[break][break]

his rotom that had fallen asleep as well now wakes, CHARGING as it zips off to assist Greyson Connors's umbreon.

despite the circumstances of this camping trip, aaron sleeps well. he continues to snore even as his charizard raises her head high to watch Greyson Connors and his umbreon move around the perimeter. she rumbles low at the espeon comes out of the dark to greet them, stirring his pikachu awake with a twitch of her ears. the electric-type hits him with a rabbit kick as she hops off of him and onto the sand, but he's still dead to the world. [break][break]
eventually, LANCE VOLLANS 's shaking wakes him up. he mindlessly pushes himself upright, blinking blearily. he squints against the moonlight that bathes their makeshift camp, groggily trying to process where he is and what's going on.

"ngh ... whuh?"
[break][break]
another blink. is greyson fighting the fucking sand? he's about to bark at him for eating those random mushrooms he found, but then he notices that the sand is moving around them, taking the shapes of countless pokemon.

"what the fuck? charizard — " he raises his voice to call out to her, shifting onto his knees and then stumbling to a stand. "deal with this shit."

she thrusts herself upward with a sharp beat of her wings, stirring up a cloud of sand in her wake. she wheels herself around the perimeter, a dark shape against the alien night. her throat and belly glows red with dragon fire as she dives down and bathes the illusory pokemon in a plume of fire.

"yo, what the fuck is going on?" he asks Greyson Connors , bending down to snatch up his pikachu before she gets the idea to throw herself into the fight too. "did your dumbass push a button again while we were out?"
